<i>Lemna aequinoctialis</i> migrates further into temperate continental Europe—A new alien aquatic plant for Ukraine

The article presents the results of studies a series species identifications genus Lemna (Lemnaceae) conducted in 2019. Duckweed samples were taken from eight localities northern regions Ukraine and identified to using morphological molecular markers (barcoding). A new alien duckweed for Ukraine—lesser (Lemna aequinoctialis Welw.)—was discovered, which this study is devoted. All other belonged minor. most complete description distribution L. Welw. Europe, also contains updated data on duckweeds Ukraine. Six are now known Ukraine—three native three alien. ecological requirements similar those We examined similarities differences between these species, confirmed by barcoding plastid atpF-atpH psbK-psbI intergenic spacers.
